Datuk Dr. Tan Chee Khuan (Executive Director of TAG)  is a philanthropist/art collector and entrepreneur, publisher and psychiatrist.  He is best known for his seminal work on the history of pioneer artists of Malaysia whose works he has a sizeable collection of, even after he generously donated huge tranches to the Penang State Art Gallery (PSAG), USM Art Gallery and various charitable causes.

He is currently vice-chairman of PSAG committee. A prolific writer and publisher, he has written many books on art, art criticisms, mental health and superstitions.

In 2009, he started his career as an artist with 2 solo exhibitions.
