1960 - UNESCO fellowship and Asia Foundation grant for a year's study tour.

1963 - Paintings used to illustrate book, Malaysians published by Shell group of companies.

1990 - Conferred the title of Royal Portrait Painter by the Sultan of Selangor

1991 - Awarded datukship by the Sultan of Selangor.
