Born in 1930, Penang

Art Education
1951 – Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore

1958 – Slade School of Art, UK
Later, he won scholarships, one from the West German government, and the other for television set design at the Australian Broadcasting Commission, Sydney, Australia.

Solo exhibitions
Since 1969, held several one-man shows at Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong.
1992 – Retrospective exhibition, The Art Gallery, Penang.
2000 – Retrospective exhibition, Penang State Art Gallery.
2009 – A tribute to Tan Choon Ghee, Art Salon @ SENI, Kuala Lumpur
