Ch’ng Kiah Kiean is a qualified architect and is also Graphic Designer but his passion and heart is into ART. It is amazing to note that his drawings or sketches are all done plein air (on the spot, outdoor).
Dr. Tan said “I marvelled at his ‘quirky’ sketching, with his lines dancing all over the paper to create intricate and delicate drawings of buildings, especially Penang heritage buildings. It may appear that he intentionally distorts the architecture of the buildings, but somehow, the final drawing is harmonised and the buildings become alive and dramatic”.
His black complex lines in his art, makes the artwork more unique and interesting and when he adds watercolour to some of his works it enhances the aesthetics of his works.

Many art lovers of his works are keen to buy his works, but missed out because he has to often tell them “sorry all sold out !” Our gallery is very fortunate and honoured that he has kept aside some selected Penang Sketchings for our exhibition which we had to book him more than a year ago.
