Blossoms & Bricks: 3rd Solo Exhibition by Koay Sheng Tat

The Art Gallery, Penang, is proud to present Blossoms & Bricks: Koay Sheng Tat’s 3rd Solo Exhibition. Following the success of his second solo, A Day in George Town, where he shifted his focus from familiar street scenes to the quiet beauty of heritage details and their gentle encounters with nature.

Koay Sheng Tat fondly known as Ah Tat now invites us to see the world through an even more tender lens. His new series captures simple yet profound moments of life birds, insects, blooming flowers, and still-life scenes rendered with sensitivity and calm observation. These works remind us to pause and rediscover the quiet wonders that often go unnoticed in our daily lives.

Through 24 captivating artworks, Ah Tat celebrates Penang’s unique charm its living heritage, natural abundance, and cultural soul. From the poignant memory of the vanished Kampung Siam to the joyful vibrancy of local flora and fauna, his paintings speak of both loss and renewal. Blossoms & Bricks stands as a heartfelt tribute to Penang and an invitation to reconnect with its beauty.
